The Wurzel family has three generations who have been serving the insurance needs of Florida families...amounting to over 75 years of experience, starting with Eugene Wurzel who began selling insurance in Winter Haven, FL in 1955 with Life of Georgia Insurance company. In 1957 he joined Allstate and went on to be an Allstate honor ring agent, retiring in 1979 with 24 years of experience.

Following in Eugene's footsteps, Bob Wurzel put down roots in Ft. Myers, FL with his wife Marcia and began working with Allstate in 1972, back when Allstate had kiosks in Sears. When Allstate allowed agents to open their own neighborhood sales offices in 1985, Bob and Marcia were one of the first in Florida to do so. They were then able to customize their office into one that revolved around strong personal customer service; a theme that runs through the Wurzel family business.

Bob and his wife Marcia sold insurance through Allstate for 29 years. They were also recipients of Allstate's prestigious honor ring award for more than 20 years; The Honor Ring has been Allstate's symbol of outstanding achievement for more than 40 years. Bob and Marcia sold their book of business in 2001 but remain active in the insurance community.

Robert Wurzel has 10 years of insurance experience and has followed in his parent's footsteps in opening his own independent insurance shop, The Wurzel Insurance Agency, located in Oviedo, FL. Robert got his insurance license while in high school and had his first taste at running an agency at age 18 while his parents, Bob and Marcia Wurzel, took a much needed vacation, leaving their successful Allstate agency in Robert's capable hands. It was through this experience Robert knew he would start his own insurance agency and follow in his grandfather Eugene Wurzel and his father Bob Wurzel's footsteps.

Robert worked as an insurance agent at an Allstate agency in Oviedo while receiving his business degree from the University of Central Florida. He then transitioned to sales and office manager of a local independent insurance agency helping to grow the book of business over 400% in just a few short years. His thorough knowledge of the industry gives Robert a keen sense to know exactly what market will best serve his customers needs, in turn, making them customers for life. Robert is married, and he and his wife Anne-Marie, a local Realtor, reside in Oviedo.

Behind the logo

We've often been told that our logo is unique and been asked if there's any meaning behind it. We did put quite a bit of thought and effort forward in designing the logo. The tree has meaning not only because it's a family tree, symbolizing the the three generations of Wurzel's in the insurance industry, but the word Wurzel actually means "root" in German. The tree symbolizes the family roots in insurance and the longevity included in Wurzel name. The three branches represent the three generations that have worked in insurance. The leaves represent the couples starting with Eugene and Lillian Wurzel, Bob and Marcia Wurzel and Robert and Anne-Marie Wurzel. The tree lends itself to "branch out" and be passed down; branches and leaves would be added to the tree in each generation and the tree would continue to grow.
